Welcome to the Robop Q-Site. Here we answer the question "How does Robop work?"
Robop works as a bird deterrent because it mimics the look, sound and movement of a real peregrine falcon. Why is that important? The reason is that peregrines are to birds as the great white shark is to humans. Peregrines attack all types of bird, from sparrows to geese and even herons. In all 106 species are known to be on the peregrine's menu. They attack with unparallelled speed and ferocity in a dive known as a stoop. Speeds of well over 100 miles per hour have been recorded. As a result of this all birds have an in-built fear of peregrines. This fear is instinctive. Even though peregrines are relatively rare birds recognise the danger instantly.

Peregrines fly over a large area and normally attack, feed then move on. However, some will chosse a territory in which to nest and stay for a long period. While this used to be rare in towns and cities, this is no longer the case as the BBC Spring Watch programme has shown. So, the objective is to convinced birds that Robop is a peregrine that has decided to establish a territory on and around the property you wish to be free of birds.
