In keeping with the global nature of the oil and gas industry we have installations in the U.K., Canada and Italy. Customers include Exxon Mobil and ERG at their giant oil refinery in Sicily. Landing by helicopter on offshore platforms can be very hazardous owing to gulls on the hellideck. These can be particularly challenging where the platforms are normally unmanned. The solution is to use Robop in its mains powered configuration (110V or 240V). This uses a UL approved power supply mounted in an IP67 waterproof enclosure that delivers 12V DC to drive Robop. As always we use military grade waterproof connectors and armoured cable. At the ERG facility they use Robop to keep pigeons out of their engineering warehouse. Robop stands guard at the door mounted on a special bracket designed by our local distributor DECO System. Closer to home for many years a prominent company in the business of supplying oil and related products to garages and retail outlets successfully used Robop mounted on a simple trailer, again to keep pigeons out of the warehouse. This is a common problem, how to keep birds out of buildings where the doors are permanently open to allow access by forklift trucks.
