Robop's commercial customers include many insurance companies such as Standard Life, Aegon and recently a large office development for Bovis Lendlease funded by Scottish Widows. These are usually modern city centre office blocks where gulls and pigeons favour the shelter provided by roof top plant such as air conditioning systems.
The photo opposite shows a much smaller application this time in an edge of town industrial /retail park in the city of Carlisle. Robop is used by a prestige BMW dealership one of several who have used Robop successfully. The motivation for buying their two Robops was both the cost and inconvenience of keeping cars clean in an area where there is a lot of gulls owing to their proximity to the sea. Gull "pooh" is particularly damaging to modern cars with water based paints as the "pooh" is corrosive and frequently contains a high proportion of sand which can scratch paintwork when it is washed off. One dealer commented "With Robop it's like having a force field over the garage, it works way better than I expected".
